Entry: Statistics Friday, January 23, 2009

Was watching this movie titled Statistics and though
it's pretty morbid (the subject matter of course) got
me looking into the subject and deduce my Singapore
version of Statistics. Let's just see what we have here
in Singapore first:

Life Expectancy (2007)
Male: 78.2
Female: 82.9

Death (2007): 17,140
Death Rate (per 1000 in 2007): 4.5

Number of Road Accident (2007)
Fatal Accident: 214
Serious Accident: 80
Slight Accident: 8,029

Number of persons killed and injured in accidents (2007)
Killed: 219
Seriously injured: 92
Slightly injured: 10,250

Suicides per 100,000 people 2006
Males: 12.9
Females: 7.7
Total pop: 10.3

And the list goes on.......

Everyday is the same and everyone
is just another statistics after something
happened.

The question would then lead to this,
which is not very different from what the movie
shows, what would you want to do since we
know not when we are going to die?
How would you live your life since we got a
veil over the clock that's counting down
constantly?
Would that change the way you treat people
or even even lend a helping hand?

Looking inwardly, what would I do?
Would I walk away and not care?
